We reserved campsite #19, which turned out to be a great spot. Right on the water, it has a stony path leading directly to the lakeshore.

After years of camping at Seaton Creek, this summer I decided to search the internet and see if the campground host position was open. By a stroke of luck (or because it’s so remote), it was.

Since 2022, the morel mushrooms seasons have been dry for us. Were we too early, too late, or maybe the weather wasn’t right? – it’s always hard to pinpoint an exact reason. Morels move season to season as well, making them hard to track.

Rivers, creeks, stars, coyotes, bacon wrapped brats, PokémonGo and good fucking vibes. Last Seaton visit of ‘23 included hiking out to “Little Mac”, a large wooden suspension bridge that unites the Manistee River Trail with the North Country Trail.

A visit to two new sites that looked promising, Sulak Campground and Gleason’s Landing! Both offered me and Moose access to the river, though by very different means.
